I wasn’t around in the world of blogging for the last month due to Job Hunting Anxiety Disorder. It’s a disease when you had just graduated and you had planned so much to have fun and at the same time hope to get a good job.
So? How was it?
I can tell you everything turned out well. I went for many trips. I gave talks. I was given many opportunities. But most importantly, I found a job.
Or should I say the job found me. I felt like a newly-wed and I am so happy!! I am going to work so hard… But at the same time going to enjoy life more.
Oh yea… My plan to reduce weight had failed terribly thus far. Guess it is time to pick up. Haihz…
Finally done with my final year project presentation yesterday and thus it marked the end of my varsity life. No more schooling from now on! It’s a great relieve to know everything has finally come to a conclusion!! No more zombie nightmare haunting me nights after nights causing severe insomnia.
Straight after the presentation, I was glad that I had the night specially arranged for me by omy.sg. Again with their kindness, they had invited me over to an exclusive screening of “Robin Hood” staring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.
I am the fan of Robin Hood since young. Who doesn’t like a genuine heroic story who “rob from the wealthy and gives to the poor”? I mean it’s one of the best hero stories ever written on Earth. Being influenced by my mother (she likes Kevin Costner very very much!) I always had the kind of impression that this hero has got to be handsome.. Haha.. The previous 2 versions (Robin Hood: The Prince of Thieves, 1991 and Robin Hood Men in Tight, 1993) featured 2 gorgeous guys in the movie.
1991
1993
And when I first heard that they are going to cast Russell Crowe in this new Robin Hood movie I was shocked!!
I thought I was going to be disappointed!!
But I was wrong. It turned out to be just a nice and one of the coolest movies in 2010! Seriously!
I’m totally buying this new Robin! To be honest I think no one has got to be more suitable than Russell Crowe. He plays the new Robin with much more in-depth personality. Great!
OK. Enough crap on the childhood memory. Let’s move into the review of the movie.
Overall I love this film. Though I’m not sure with the editing because for Singaporean version that I watched there were some abrupt cuts into other scenes which made me confused a little bit. But overall I love the story!
If you’re thinking that this movie is about Robin Hood saving his own village then you are wrong. This is more like “Robin Hood: The Begins”. It tells the story way before “Robin Hood has become Robin Hood”. Yea.. It’s about how history for this character and how he is shaped to be a heroic character in that way.
We see more actions and fighting scenes (though, as usual, some unacceptable scenes like having a sense of romance on a battlefield) but the story really touches me in deep on this Robin character.
I like the part where he stayed in Nottingham especially and to be frank that’s the essence of the whole movie.
Oh yea.. Did I mention that Cate Blanchett is wonderful in this movie? She plays an English woman perfectly and I love her character. Well, she’s much more “useful” in this movie compared to previous version where Marian was just like Princess Peach in Super Mario waiting to be saved. Haha…
And to relate this in the current situation in Malaysia as well… Haihz… Who is the Robin Hood to free us all??
Went there 2 weeks ago with friends. Don’t really remember (or even bother) to update on this trip as it was not really mesmerizing nor memorable.
To be honest, I am quite (and very) disappointed with the latest Integrated Resort: Resort World in Sentosa. The architecture is predictable, the design is lazy. Not “wow” factor at all.
A little bit “old-fashioned” and predictable floor layout with casino and branded boutique and stuff.. Pretty similar to those in Macau.
Ju-On spotted in Resort World!!
Well at least one thing for celebration is that we have one extra place to hang out in Singapore. Cheers to that.. o.O
Well at least we need not to travel uphill (as in Genting KL) for the casino.
But the restrictions are very intolerant as saw from the news that tourists were refused for admission due to dress code and unable to show passport. Oh yea~ If you are a non-citizen/PR of the country, remember to hold on to your passport because they will check at the entrance.
That night I entered the casino for 4 times, flashing my passport 4 times too…
Hmm… Never mind. I’m looking forward to the 2nd and another Integrated Resort with the “WOW” factor!! Marina Sands Bay Resort!! Well if you are a Public Relation officers looking for bloggers for your opening event, please drop me an email.
Some people talks to me, complaint to me, confronted me.. That I didn’t update my blog as frequent as I was before. So to apologize and make it up for all of you I’m going to post a nude photo of myself! But I know you are going to vomit so I will post it in the next post so you got the time to go and find a plastic, uh, paper (be more environmentally friendly) bag before I post them here. I will be posting those photos soon. You will be experiencing some errors while you are trying to access to my blog because I know that the traffic will be very jam because too many will try to access to my blog so you gotta be patient!
Chinese New Year is just around the corner (in fact next week!!) and namewee has came out with his idea of how a local CNY song should sound like. Enjoy!!
OK. I’m going to announce the 4 projects I’m going to do this year. So that I will keep motivating myself to finish them with determination no matter how hard it is!!
(1) Project Taiwan
As you know I won Taiwan Best Trip competition and is going to Taiwan for 1-month superb traveling experience! I’m gonna producing fun videos and if possible, publishing a book with my buddy about our experience! It’s always a dream to publish a book and I think now is the time! Yay!
(2) Project Malaysia (project name to be determined in near future)
It all started as a random plan that I talked with Kaito, my buddy when we were planning our further plan during the Taiwan competition. We had visited so many places overseas but do we really know our home country, well, up to certain point of view we don’t really know our motherland that well and deep enough. So we will be embarking a brand new experience and launching this project to walk around Malaysia in 2 – 3 months. It will be my graduation trip as well before I start my life in the workforce overseas so it’s going to mean a lot to me~ So far the plans are still in discussions and the details will be revealed asap.
(3) Project 20.10
This project actually has already started for a week on Jan 11, 2010.
I never deny that I am fat. If anyone talks about it, I’d laugh about it. At the beginning on my weight gain, I was frustrated and feeling disgusted about it. But I did nothing. Now it’s getting numb and I’m so getting used to this ‘fat’ condition. It’s a very unhealthy condition physically, and mentally. It’s a thorn in me. I need to pluck this thorn out from me.
So Project 20.10 is a target set by me, of losing 20kgs in 10 months. Sounds rather impossible, but I will force myself doing the best that I could. Then how if I am traveling in Taiwan? Am I going to miss the food then? I will control. I will exercise. I will do anything possible to keep the calorie consumption low. It’s not about throwing as much weight as possible. It’s about consciousness to start doing something to improve my health.
I will constantly and consistently update of my BMI that day here to keep reminding myself of what I am going through and keep going on. I will give my best.
Body-Mass Index (BMI) Calculation
Jan 11
Current Weight: 105kg
Current Height: 178cm
BMI: 33.1
