Chinese New Year is just around the corner (in fact next week!!) and namewee has came out with his idea of how a local CNY song should sound like. Enjoy!!

OK. I’m going to announce the 4 projects I’m going to do this year. So that I will keep motivating myself to finish them with determination no matter how hard it is!!

(1) Project Taiwan

As you know I won Taiwan Best Trip competition and is going to Taiwan for 1-month superb traveling experience! I’m gonna producing fun videos and if possible, publishing a book with my buddy about our experience! It’s always a dream to publish a book and I think now is the time! Yay!

(2) Project Malaysia (project name to be determined in near future)

It all started as a random plan that I talked with Kaito, my buddy when we were planning our further plan during the Taiwan competition. We had visited so many places overseas but do we really know our home country, well, up to certain point of view we don’t really know our motherland that well and deep enough. So we will be embarking a brand new experience and launching this project to walk around Malaysia in 2 – 3 months. It will be my graduation trip as well before I start my life in the workforce overseas so it’s going to mean a lot to me~ So far the plans are still in discussions and the details will be revealed asap.

(3) Project 20.10

This project actually has already started for a week on Jan 11, 2010.

I never deny that I am fat. If anyone talks about it, I’d laugh about it. At the beginning on my weight gain, I was frustrated and feeling disgusted about it. But I did nothing. Now it’s getting numb and I’m so getting used to this ‘fat’ condition. It’s a very unhealthy condition physically, and mentally. It’s a thorn in me. I need to pluck this thorn out from me.

So Project 20.10 is a target set by me, of losing 20kgs in 10 months. Sounds rather impossible, but I will force myself doing the best that I could. Then how if I am traveling in Taiwan? Am I going to miss the food then? I will control. I will exercise. I will do anything possible to keep the calorie consumption low. It’s not about throwing as much weight as possible. It’s about consciousness to start doing something to improve my health.

I will constantly and consistently update of my BMI that day here to keep reminding myself of what I am going through and keep going on. I will give my best.

Actually I was planning to countdown the new year by myself, alone, enjoying a super pot of steamboat filled with delicious yummy veges and meatballs~ Sounds desperate and lonely huh? I don’t think so lor~ Haha.. Quite enjoy geh~~ Haha.. 單身的自由啊～～

Suddenly Boon Earn called and obviously he was alone too (another half wasn’t around.. so he looked for me lor.. =.=), so the kind-hearted me invited him and hence crushing my lonely moment~~~ Hahaha.. What’s more? He asked me to go out to countdown and watch the fireworks!~~ *faint* So much of a peaceful night huh? lol..

Bo huat la~ So must go lor~~ and after the steamboat, 9pm.. so here we go! I’ll let the photos tell the story~

I should have brought my tripod to capture the moment… Great! Now I have to wait another year and get through all the crowded area all over again… =.=” How clever I am?!

每一次離開KL，都有一種傷感。可能是很怕面對事實，或者厭倦了在這里的忙碌。然后心里都會想起家人，難道這就是所謂的心靈寄托嗎？

突然想起前一陣子與朋友合作拍了一部小品 — 是個仿造Yasmin Ahmad拍攝的國慶日廣告。短片名稱其實也不知道怎么叫才好，結果跟著原本短片中最明顯的一句對白“我不要si ham！”來命名。（si ham = 廣東發音，是蚵仔的意思）這也算是馬來西亞的濃厚特色文化吧？總喜歡在自己的句子里面東加一句廣東話，西加一句福建，前加一點馬來文，后加一點發音不準的英文。家鄉味道也因此特別地濃厚。

這是我有點尺度寬的演出。開始導演問我：“你死掉的話會pantang（馬來語意思為介意）嗎？”。我想了一下，“OK啊。沒問題。”但難免心中還是心寒了一下。雖然我和家人自小在市區成長，但畢竟我家母親還是有一點點的不喜歡啦。不過想了幾想，“算啦！年終香港TVB和美國電視演死人僵尸得多的是，我演一下又會有什么事？”

非常簡單地制作。也沒有什么華麗的演員。（找到我也不會期待什么大帥哥卡斯的出現吧？！）一個下午，就把短片拍攝好了。過了一個星期，Yee Kiat在一次舞臺劇彩排show給了大家。話說來，2分鐘的小品，整個短片的鋪排還不錯的，感情十分充足，甚至夸張到有女生哭了！（有那么夸張嗎？）最后的一幕卻發生了怪事，效果不但沒出來，反而引來笑場。。。（烏鴉飛過“呀”三聲）

原因是：他們覺得我是朋友的關系，混熟了，所以搞笑的效果大于感動。頓時無言。結果當天公映播放出去的時候，聽說是我太出名了，結果全場笑的人居多，哭的人有小貓兩三只。。。

Forgive me.. Was in KL enjoying my time and now back to Singapore for the very last semester of my uni life. I’m definitely gonna miss this life half year later.

Gonna finish posting up what happened in December holiday before moving on to 2010! Haha.. So much fun I had during the great month of December! Trip to HK, gatherings, meeting new friends and so on. So here comes the photos!

My primary + secondary schoolmate Jiunn Yeep came all the way down (with his friends) to Singapore to celebrate Christmas! Haha.. So I decided to go out and be his photographer for his group (for free! =.=”) Good chance to try my camera too. Ooooh.. Did I mention that I got my own DSLR at last?!! Haha… Will post more about my darling next time.

記得每年這個時候都會寫一篇回想文。寫下一年來干了些什么好事壞事屁事瘋狂事。上一年可能比較sentimental感性了一點，一次過回想了大學生涯三年的回憶，哇靠！很難想象我當時是多么有耐心地去寫這一篇短文（還是一點都不短的！）。2008超長回想篇。老實說，要回想起來還真不容易，畢竟人也開始老了。。。

眨眼間，大學生活已經邁入最后一年了。見到死黨朋友們一個兩個出來開始賺大錢我卻還是讀書人一名，還真的有點心里不平衡！2009～ 也是我邁入人生第23周年紀念的日子，回頭望一望，不禁感嘆，時間過得還真快啊！斗膽說一句，幸福的我或許已經有了孩子。又或者不吉利說一句，我的人生也可能過了一半咯～！23, 23, 還不錯啊！至少曾是以前Beckham的球衣號碼。=.=”

先來一個 2009 總結：

2009 年對我來說算是一個啟發點吧？人生中的第一次，發生得最多次就在今年了！算是很好的一年吧？！（早知道就快快買多多股票咯～！）簡單來說上半年和下半年都忙著不一樣的東西，我就是那種沒事找多多事來做的人，搞得自己累到不像人才甘愿的人。成就感也很大的一年～ 我曾答應自己要在大學生涯完結之前做一件“大事”來畫上一個完美的句點，也得愿以償。人生中第一次贏了一場用自己前途搏回來的世界級比賽，為自己贏了人生中的第一個“一百萬”，雖然是臺幣還要扣稅還要扣很多雜費，但是已經心滿意足了。

把所有 2009 大大小小好事壞事都排起來了～ 你們慢慢欣賞吧！

• 1月5號 – 我正式加入新加坡一家Manufacturing Company，是半年的internship來的。起初的心情還有點點怕，畢竟是第一次“真正”的工作，還要grade10個credit的叻！做不好隨時給個C的grade就欲哭無淚了～～ 但是很高興！學的東西還好，可能沒有別人多但我覺得還ok！最重要是認識公司里面的同事都很好哦～ supervisor也超好的～ 哈哈～ 跟以前人家跟我說的不一樣啦～ 我們intern最后要走的時候開請我們吃大餐“有魚有蝦”的那種～ 太爽啦！

• 今年好奢侈哦！今年應該是花錢最多的一年吧？！很多方面啊～～ 食物是其中一樣吧？！基本上做工賺到的通通都拿來貢獻給這個經濟不好的時候來舒緩一下經濟不景氣～～ 可能寫blog的關系之一吧～ 就一直給自己理由去吃吃吃！結果肥到～～～

• 最驚險的經驗 – 老實一句，還真的險過剃頭！一生中這么多次的撞撞跌跌，都沒有這一次這么緊張危險刺激！不要停我說到這么好玩～ 我們一家人當時還真的緊張到～ 在金馬倫拋錨，還險些掉入谷底！然后下大雨還要推車～ 過后傻傻在漆黑的環境里等了幾個小時～ 當時的我竟然一心想著回家update blog～ 無言 =.=” 看來我真的很適合當記者咯！

• 今年我似乎與交通工具非常有緣分。看來可以拍成一部《車中奇緣》了！先來說巴士，今年來回KL-新加坡應該不下20次吧？！有一次頻密到連續三個星期周末都要回一次！（比JOHOR人更夠力叻！）厲害！生意做大了！！坐了不少巴士，可以叫我巴士達人了。當中的辛酸誰能知道啊～～

• 最糗的事 – 并不是扮女人。而是我趕著搭飛機回KL的時候，沒有發覺我穿著的牛仔褲是～～～～ 從此以后我都會探測一下是不是涼涼的才出門～

• BOONMING.com 正式成立。開始稍微認真地寫部落格。得到很多不錯的待遇哦～ 是不是有免費戲票、免費的食物、免費的blah blah blah。。

• 也在一項新加坡部落格比賽中取得第五名的成績。哈哈～ 不錯啦！！過后在10月的時候也遇到了部落格奇人Kenny Sia～ 發現原來他不高～

• 人生第一次在一年里面坐這么多次飛機！！o.O” 真的便宜啊～～ 哈哈～～ 算一算，今年2009年坐了總共12次。當中4次中華航空去臺北的都是贊助的！另外Fireflyz兩次，Jetstar1次，Air Asia 5次。哇～～～ 不是我在串人還是什么的，我真的有點“飛到閑”的感覺。=.=”

• 今年還去了一個超有意義的旅游。那是由登加樓大學舉辦的“海龜保育計劃”。在熱浪島一處鳥不生蛋的地方，就連晚上連燈也沒有，更不要說電話訊號咯～ 一個也沒有啊！當時不知道做么沒有想到，如果像電影醬如果發生什么意外還是有連環殺人魔的時候不就慘咯！=.=” 不過整個1個星期的旅游國道非常非常的棒啊！！順道也去登加樓背包2-3天～ 超爽的summer holiday!!哈哈～～

• 第一次看飛機和跑車賽跑，雖然很白癡，但是也算是難得的白癡經驗啊～～ 呵呵～～

• 第一次全家出國到香港旅游。當然是我這個旅游達人帶隊咯～· 呵呵～～

• 今年的重頭戲 – 也是我今年全神貫注的一項比賽。為了這項比賽，很多個星期沒有去上課，用了錢，花了很多很多很多的時間。宣告我們的名字的時候，我是真的哭了出來。其實除了高興以外，那眼淚是多少辛勞換回來的啊～～ 這項比賽真的幫了我很多，認識了很多很棒的人，也給了我很多不一樣的經驗。。。

• 就好象第一次有旅游作家林悅訪問我們（覺得自己有點點卡斯、大牌）哈哈～～ 刊登在星洲哦！有我們的旅游偶像來訪問我們，還真的有點受寵若驚！呵呵～～

• 第一本訪問我們的雜志《旅游玩家》，當時還真的一次接受采訪，有點點不習慣呢～ 不過后來就ok了～ 哈哈

• 上988電臺做節目，還是live的接受訪問！！哈哈～～ 可能是第一次，所以有點緊張。。。 不過和DJ彪民聊天好好玩哦！接下來的愛FM訪問也得心應手了～～

• 開始展開我們的分享會～

其實還有很多很多的第一次～ 上電視啦～ 被記者圍攻（超搞笑的！）～等等。。真的很高興有那么充實的一年。要感激的人多到～～ 真的說不完啦～～ 基本上facebook里面的朋友都要謝謝～ 家人的支持啊～～ 親戚啊～～ 都非常支持我的比賽啊～～ 還有我的partner鎧毅，一路走來有多辛苦，他就最清楚的了！！感恩啊！！

接下來要說的話或許可能有點點過分和貪心，但我還是要說的了。

I was invited to Singapore Discovery Center today to get my Holga 135BC and had a fun day there. More photos la~~~

So what’s this Singapore Discovery Center about? Well, a bit like Science Center in Jurong East but the picture summarises everything.

It’s about the “little red dot” and how it manages to survive~~

Eh.. Then you might ask~ Go National Musuem can already lor.. Why go until so ulu ulu in Joo Koon to see the same thing?! (Even more ulu than NTU I can say~~ Hahaha…)

Then you are wrong! Hehe… Because there are lots of interactive games inside that you can play with~ Quite fun lar when I tried to pretend I’m much younger~~~ lol… You need to let go to enjoy mah~~

Then I run to the commando HQ spot to control the whole troop…

In the end, I walked off before I finished the game because I totally catch no ball~ =.=” Don’t know how to play at all~~ =.=”

I watched one 4D movie, one 3D movie and one 2D movie there too~~ Haha… All for free!

The 2D movie is Christmas Carol lor!! Hehe.. Actually I only entitled to watch one 4D and one 3D movie but then I blur blur and watched 1 extra for free~~ Who said I so free after exam? Hahaha…

11am to 4pm~ Spent my weekend here~ Haha…

Today I’ll be flying back to KL ler. Tuesday flying to Hong Kong la!! Hohoho… So exciting!!

Don’t ask me why it’s pink~ I won it and it’s free so I can’t ask for more~~ Haha…

I feel that I look like some 变态/變態 serial killer criminal in CSI that in the it I will use pink camera to shoot and follow my victim into dark valley and kill ‘em mercilessly… a stalker who stalks for pink lady… =.=”

Anyway the quality of the photo I still need to test and get them developed and that means months~~ Haha… Me so broken now that I don’t have money to buy films.. How to shoot? Don’t talk about developing films.. Hahaha.. But you can view some samples here~~ So awesome!!!!

2009 is one of the great years for me. A wonderful year. I will write a 2009 flashback soon after my Hong Kong trip with my family. It’s my family first overseas trip and I am so excited and looking forward to this!!

Also, just checked my gmail and found out that I won a Holga 135BC camera from a competition lately. Gosh~ It’s a cute little *pink* camera~ lol

Haha.. Definitely a year that I won many stuff~

Currently browsing for DSLR too. Currently indecisive on Canon 500D and 50D. 7D is too much for me. The thing is, I won’t get my prize money that I won until I reached Taiwan for the 1-month holiday there in February. So I can only dripping my saliva all over the table~~

Yea.. A lot of you seems very interested on how I am going to spend the prize money. I will try to blog about it. But so far for now I was so busy studying for exams that I skipped almost everything in this semester and got no time to think over it. Now the exam is over and finally I can start thinking through it properly. Will update you guys once I get an idea later~

This is a story of me winning the first million dollar (before 20% tax deduction and in Taiwanese dollar) in my life.

Thank you everyone for making this “The Moment” of my life. It’s gonna be long. I should get it published as a book. Like Beckham…

THE MOMENT I heard our team’s name being announced. Everything came true! Finally… WE WON!!

Let’s rewind back to 5 months ago. Kai Yit just graduated from University of Malaya, looking for job while I was having school holidays but in the midst of preparing for camp and industrial attachment. Just a casual internet surfing I accidentally bumped into an advertisement about this “Best Trip of the World” competition organised by Taiwan Tourism Bureau.

BooN -- “Hey.. There’s a travel competition like the Australia Best Job in the World in Taiwan.”

Kaito -- “What is that?”

BooN -- “The Australia Best Job in the World? About hiring an islander to take care of the island and make it a … … … … blah blah”

Kaito -- “No. I don’t care about Australia. What’s about Taiwan’s part?”

And we were in the competition slightly 5 minutes after that.

But first problem was communication. At the starting stage we almost conducted our discussion through emails. I was in Singapore while Kai Yit was in KL. It was so difficult to get a thing done and took much longer to decide on a thing. Luckily I made several trips back to KL whenever I was free. At this stage, we never expect ourselves to go that far. All in our mind was to spend our time to have fun while working together to come out with the best plan ever!!

The first round required us to submit 2 things. A proposal for 4 days 3 nights with a clear theme with places that we were going to visit together with a 1-minute video of team introduction. So whenever I return to KL, we would spend endless day time in Starbucks, Kim Gary, Old Town… Almost all places that has got WiFi in KL for discussions… We wanted to do something really really big and serious this time. So we decided to give our full attention into it.

Once we were so frustrated, so many themes to be explored in Taiwan… Which one to go with? Be very special~~ Be very discreet~~

It was luck again when Kai Yit stumbled on an aboriginal song. He showed me the next day and immediately we fell in love with the theme “The Search for Aboriginal Melody”. What a beautiful yet creative theme for 4 days in Taiwan! We never had the chance to explore the aboriginal races in Malaysia so why not now with a chance to see it there?! That’s how we got our theme.

For the video, we were so excited about making our first introduction video and decided to do our shooting in KLCC as the location best represented our country. We felt that the video was very important as it would give the very first impression to the judges. So we took a very special approach as the first part of the video was very serious introducing the theme of our journey and in the later part of the video unleashing our energetic and young team doing all the fun stuff.

It worked.

July 10 marked the first step ever to our 1 million dream! We were so shocked when it was announced that our team made into the World’s Top 50 in the competition. We stumbled, we stunned but we went on! We quickly picked up our pace as we didn’t have much time to prepare. My school was starting in 3 weeks’ time and Kai Yit had just found his job. We couldn’t delay our trip any further but to have it in 2 weeks’ time, and we hadn’t even started a booking yet that time.

2 weeks from July 10 to July 25, we had the biggest storm before the trip. Flight tickets, accommodation and transportation arrangement, meals, exact location of places and much much more to worry. We had so little time yet we faced more and more troubles along the way. We were both students without credit card so it was really a trouble for bookings. We both had laptop of “centuries-old” and we were worry that it might not function well (for video-editing) … We tested and tested and reviewed and reviewed …

July 26. We were set!

And go! Taiwan here we are!!

The week we had in Taiwan were both exciting and exhausting. We would spend the whole day playing nonstop and yet night we were busy typing and editing videos for our blog as a requirement in the competition. The day would start at 4 or 5am when we woke up in super blur condition and it would end at about 2 or 3am right after we satisfied with the progress of our products. We had only 1 week in Taiwan and so our team had more to do compared to other teams where they could do the video and submitted them later on in Taiwan. But we were fine. We had so much trouble on the trip, the equipments kept malfunctioning, the laptop kept jamming, the batteries kept running out… But we were fine.

I remembered that we were not after the 1 million prize money that time. We were purely executing our duties and responsibilities as we were given a chance as the World’s Top 50 in the competition and the opportunity, and so we worked our best while having our great time there. I couldn’t deny that I wished I can just enjoy the whole trip without doing the blogging and video. But we glad that we were able to share our amazing experience with the world after that!

Our first news article appeared on Nanyang Siang Pau. We never expect that the news would keep on appearing for 6 or 7 times after that!!

September 10.

Our team won the “Most Popular Team” for the Chinese category. Though a little unexpected but we were confident that time with our effort that time. We knew our hard work had started to pay off and thus we pushed ourselves even further in each round. In the final round, the “miracle” happened!!

OK I won’t deny that I was the one who came out with the crazy idea. I was actually half-jokingly suggested the idea and I never expect Kai Yit to nod his head. At first it was just a random joke, but Kai Yit nod his head, SHOCKINGLY!! (perhaps he wanted to do it for long? we’ll never know…)

To sort of like “perfect” it, we found another 3 victims who also nodded their head (how come so easy de?!) but we were deeply regret the moment we were forced to wear the dress on. It was hard. Really hard. I was damn regret the moment I was trying to fit my fat body into the dress… But we learnt to push down our dignity and learnt to appreciate women more. It was hard to be a women, really. We learnt it the hard way and so please believe us!

All I wanted to say was I am lucky to have these guys as my friends. Where can you find such crazy friends that would do such things together with you?! (with no pay of course! All we treat was a Bak Kut Teh meal… so pity huh?!)

Well some people asked me what made me wanna go that far to dress up like that for the competition? Am I confident that I will win it? That’s why I did it?

NO. The answer was NO. I never predict anything closer than TOP 3 that time. The competition was huge. So many great teams out there that deserve to win. I did it purely because I don’t want to be typical. I couldn’t deny that I wanted to grab attention but wasn’t it the real meaning of doing the video? So let me present to you the greatest video with more than 30,000 views!

Catching up with studies and work, we never stop chasing our dreams. Pulling votes from time to time, we got huge response from all over the countries, and that’s when we started to believe in ourselves. And we knew we can do it!

So we pushed ourselves even more! Sharing our experience face to face with people in my university, breaking into the school compound to get support directly from students like me!

And we met many people with same passion as us in travelling, in sharing our overseas experience through such events… We received even more support then.

My life had became more random than ever. I never been to and fro between the city of KL and Singapore so many times in my life. Averagely I would be taking buses (often I just hopped on.. without much planning ahead) every 2 weeks. My sleeping times were disrupted. My blood pressure had increased. My workload had been more than ever. My financial crisis was bigger than ever!! (Imagine per round trip cost RM100 and how much it would cost you to travel in 5 months?) It’s a good chance for me to polish my social life as well as to get adapt to the flexibility as well. I won’t say I love to travel that much but I started to getting used to it. It wasn’t that bad after all.

And 5 months had passed just like that!

November 1 when the competition had ended, our team never rest. We compiled all of our effort into a full report and sent to the committee as a reference. We did it as a duty and responsibility. Then we rested and continued with our daily life. I was waiting anxiously until November 11 Wednesday, I received a call from Taiwan during my class. I almost yelled and screamed but I didn’t. I was told that Bak Kut Teh had made it into the Final Top 3 and we were asked to attend the ceremony on Sunday November 15.

But we were told to keep it as a secret and confidential.

I was excited but I couldn’t tell anyone. (Except my family) But I was afraid that I lost. I had the hardest time in my life in that few days. What if I lost? What if I gone to Taiwan and lost? How would I feel?

But think again. 5 months. We walked so far. We had done so much. We had done enough. Win or lose. We are in Top 3 of the World! How many teams can do that? We didn’t even thinking of winning at the starting of this competition and yet we walked this far. In my mind, I am already a winner. Yes. Winning or losing is just a formality of a competition, as long as you know you had done your best, you are a winner.

So we flew to Taipei with a relax mind. Though nervous at some moment, but we mainly spent our time with our freed mind.

November 15 was the day. We were walked to the venue. They hid us in a room avoiding the media before they brought us in and showed us the final 4 results.

We were so nervous in that room. Haha… Knowing that we were so close in the end! And we met…

West meets 东! Another top 3 finalist, Althea Lin and Ben, a strong team and young couple from the USA. We were friends since months ago chatting on facebook but it was the first time we met. A really great pleasure to meet them, nice people and they brought their baby too!!

It’s always to have a baby with you cause they are the medicine to everything!! We were playing with the baby and we never realised that it’s time to announce the results!

And so we were brought to the live venue for the media centre. My first time that we were surrounded by so many media.

It all came true with that sentence.

It all came true.

We always hear “Nothing is Impossible” but we never believe it fully until we face it. From zero in June, we are now literally winning our first million dollar in 5 months. It looked surreal, but it all came true. That’s why I couldn’t control my emotions and cried when I heard our name was called.

No, sorry. I wasn’t as strong (emotionally) as you think. Out of happiness, I cried. Out of excitement, I cried. Out of the perspective that we never let our supporters down, I cried. For so many reasons it’s worth for me to tear for awhile. It’s THE MOMENT of my life.

Seriously, it all came true with our effort, with our friends’ support, with all our supporters’ votes, with everyone together in achieving this. This is an honor I want to share with you all. Really appreciate your support all these moments. I always watch reality show where the final winner walks away with prizes and I never expect that today would be the day that I won and walked away with the top prize.
